1. Policy Statement

GTM Rural Enterprises Ltd is committed to minimising the environmental impact of its operations and promoting sustainable practices across all areas of the business. We recognise our responsibility to protect the environment and are committed to continual improvement in our environmental performance.

We aim to comply with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and approved codes of practice, and to operate in a way that prevents pollution and reduces environmental risk.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all operations, employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and anyone working on behalf of GTM Rural Enterprises Ltd.

3. Our Environmental Commitments

We are committed to:

  • Legal Compliance: Meeting or exceeding the requirements of all relevant environmental legislation and industry best practices.
  • Pollution Prevention: Minimising emissions to air, land, and water through effective operational controls.
  • Waste Management: Reducing, reusing, and recycling waste wherever possible, and ensuring safe disposal of unavoidable waste.
  • Resource Efficiency: Using energy, fuel, water, and other resources efficiently and responsibly.
  • Sustainable Procurement: Considering environmental impact when selecting suppliers, products, and materials.
  • Climate Impact: Seeking ways to reduce our carbon footprint and support low-carbon operations.
  • Habitat & Biodiversity Protection: Ensuring our activities do not harm local ecosystems and working to preserve natural habitats where possible.

4. Implementation

To achieve these objectives, GTM Rural Enterprises Ltd will:

  • Maintain an Environmental Management System appropriate to the scale of our operations.
  • Identify and regularly assess the environmental aspects and impacts of our activities.
  • Set measurable environmental objectives and targets, and monitor progress.
  • Provide environmental training and awareness to all employees and contractors.
  • Communicate this policy to all stakeholders and make it publicly available.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness to manage environmental incidents.
  • Carry out periodic audits and reviews to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.

5. Responsibilities

  • Directors and Managers are responsible for implementing and maintaining the Environmental Management Policy and ensuring compliance throughout their areas of control.
  • Employees and Contractors must follow environmental procedures, report issues promptly, and contribute to environmental improvements.

6. Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or following significant changes in legislation, our activities, or operations. Updates will be communicated to all relevant parties.
